Wreath Goldenrod - S. caesia

Other common names for this plant include blue-stem goldenrod

Perhaps one of the easier goldenrods to identify due to its purple-red stems, this goldenrod is well behaved in garden settings, forming a loosely arching plant.

The flower buds are held in tight clusters against the stem of the plant. When stems are cut just before the flowers fully open, wreath goldenrod makes a good cut flower for arrangements.

Importance as a caterpillar food source: Wreath goldenrod is not used as a caterpillar food source.

Importance as a butterfly nectar source:
A long blooming source of nectar for a wide variety of butterflies.
